Loren & Sam

Loren and Sam love hanging out together in the village centre. They sometimes meet up with other friends for adventures in the forest at the bottom of the village.

 

Made of the double crochet spiral and is a project well suitable for beginners.

Head

Rnd 1: Yarn A; 6dc into an adjustable ring and pull the yarn end to tighten up (6 sts)

Rnd 2: 2dc in each st around (12 sts)

Rnd 3: [dc in the next st, 2dc in the next st] 6 times (18 sts)

Rnd 4: [dc in the next 2 sts, 2dc in the next st] 6 times (24 sts)

Rnd 5: [dc in the next 3 sts, 2dc in the next st] 6 times (30 sts)

Rnd 6: [dc in the next 4 sts, 2dc in the next st] 6 times (36 sts)

Rnd 7: [dc in the next 5 sts, 2dc in the next st] 6 times (42 sts)

Rnds 8-17: dc in each st around (42 sts)

Rnd 18: [dc in the next 5 sts, dc2tog] 6 times (36 sts)

Rnd 19: [dc in the next 4 sts, dc2tog] 6 times (30 sts)

Ears

Make two. Follow the instruction below for the inner layer of each ear.

 

Row 1: Start with the right side and Yarn B; ch 4, dc in the 2nd ch from hook, dc in the next 2 chs (3 sts)

Row 2: ch 1, turn; dc in each st across (3 sts)

Row 3: ch 1, turn; dc in the next 2 sts, 2dc in the next st (4 sts)

Row 4: ch 1, turn; dc in the next 3 sts, 2dc in the next st (5 sts)

Row 5: ch 1, turn; dc in the next 4 sts, 2dc in the next st (6 sts)

Row 6: ch 1, turn; dc in the next 5 sts, 2dc in the next st (7 sts)

Row 7: ch 1, turn; dc in the next 6 sts, 2dc in the next st (8 sts)

Row 8: ch 1, turn; dc in the next 7 sts, 2dc in the next st (9 sts)

Follow the instruction below for the outer layer of each ear.

 

Yarn A; repeat Rows 1-18 of the inner layer for the outer layer. Place the wrong sides of the inner and outer layers together, work on the inner side, crochet the edges of the two layers together with dc using Yarn A (3dc at the corners), dc in each st around, ss and fasten off before sewing each ear to the head. 

Arms

Make two. Follow the instruction below for each arm.

 

Rnd 1: Yarn B; 6dc into an adjustable ring and pull the yarn end to tighten up (6 sts)

Rnd 2: 2dc in each st around (12 sts)

Rnd 3: [dc in the next 3 sts, 2dc in the next st] 3 times (15 sts)

Rnd 14: [dc in the next 3 sts, dc2tog] 3 times (12 sts)

Rnds 15-20: dc in each st around (12 sts)

Rnd 21: dc in each st around, ss, add filling and leave enough yarn for sewing this part to the body (12 sts)

Rnd 1: Yarn B; 6dc into an adjustable ring and pull the yarn end to tighten up (6 sts)

Add filling before sewing the legs to the body and pull the remaining yarn from the leg with the extra-long yarn through the bottom of the body to form a tail. 

 

Embroider the nose and mouth with black yarn around the pointed tip of the face and fasten off.
